There are at least two artists called The Wilderness. Salt Lake City, Utah based Post Rock/Post Metal band The Wilderness was previously known as "The Meadows." They released an EP, Everything Is Golden in 2009 on the Sound VS Silence Label. The Wilderness is a solo project by John Johnson, formerly the singer for Vroom.
