Formed during the summer of 2003, the Yorkies began in the London tube as an experiment in a cappella techno performance. Virtuosic basses Chris Lynch and Sam duPont brought together a group of Phillips Academy actors on tour in Great Britain, who decided to name themselves after the British candy bar advertised as "Not for Girls."
