thisistheradio. formed January 2009, are an alternative indie 4-piece from Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire, England. The band started as a group of friends helping out singer-song writer David Phillips (Vocals, Acoustic Guitar), play and record his music whilst at college (aka The Shymen). College ended and the friendship with Dave waned, until one day Daniel Martin (Bass, Backing Vocals) and Paul Everatt (Lead Guitar, Backing Vocals) decided to reunite with Dave and start making music again.
