Tom Fairnie was born in Musselburgh, near Edinburgh, and although he started writing songs when he was 15 he didn't start performing until 2000. He writes and performs songs in a variety of genres ranging from traditional folk, contemporary folk, acoustic, americana and country. He has had radio play in the UK, on the continent and in the US and Canada.
