Tunnelbana Bröder was founded by Tero Intonen (guitar, vocals), Jallu Junnilainen (drums) and Vesa Niiranen (bass) in Oulu, Finland in the summer of 1980. Tero Intonen has been the band's songwriter since then. He has also translated songs by Tom Waits, Jacques Brell and Leonard Cohen, for example, into Finnish.
