Tyr is a heavy metal folk band with strong progressive metal elements. formed in January 1998 by Heri Joensen(vocals,guitar) ,Kári Streymoy(drums) and Gunnar H. Thomsen(bass guitar). Their music was inspired by Norse mythology, Faroese traditional music, and heavy metal music in general.
