Valery Polyanskiy was born in 1949 in Moscow in Russia and graduated from the Moscow Conservatory. In 1977 he was appointed as the conductor for the Bolshoi Theatre, where he had a chance to work very closely with Gennady Rozhdestvensky, the co-founder of The State Symphony Capella of Russia. During his years at the Bolshoi Theatre, Polyanskiy was a frequent guest conductor for orchestras in Iceland, Finland, Germany, Holland, Turkey and Taiwan.
