The indie rock trio Waker formed in New York City in 1999 when David Allan Sharma met up with Paul Preissner and Jamie Tanner and finally put a band together. Sharma, who was already a veteran having played with the Skalars since 1993, sparked a creativity within the band and instantly the band was practicing and playing gigs in the East Village.
