Born in Nebraska, USA to a minister and a teacher who both became counselors, we listened to the '70's stations: The Beatles, Elton John and later I liked Cat Stevens and Wings. In my teens I listened to hardcore punk and moved on to college alternative when invited in to my first band with Nick Hexum and Tim Mahoney (311) called The Eds.
