Formed in Shipley, UK, by English musician Keith Nuttall in 2001, Yammer's trademark ethnic-electronic sound came from the unconventional mix of sampled instruments and unconnected styles to achieve a sonic Sweet and Sour dish. Future Music magazine described the 2001 debut release Digital EP as "a bit chaotic, but interesting" — a phrase Nuttall borrowed to name the 2002 follow-up EP.
