Yazz, born Yasmina Evans 19th May 1960 in Shepherd's Bush, London, attended Holland Park School before trying her hand at catwalk modelling. In 1983 she enjoyed a number of club hits with the band Biz, but her first pop success came in 1988 when she provided the vocals for Coldcut's 'Doctorin' the house'.
