Yoshio Kurahashi was born in Kyoto. HIs father Yodo Kurahashi was a master of the Shakuhachi and founded the Mujuan Shakuhachi School . Yoshio Kurahashi has been teaching and performing for some 30 years now. A diverse, and dynamic performer, he is often invited to do workshops and performances, of traditional music and classic performances with orchestras, all around the world.
