Zdenek Bartak was born in Prague in 1954. As a child he started studying music /piano playing/ at the Art School, later he continued his studies at the State Conservatory in Prague and his majors were composing, piano and tuba playing. Still as a teenager he was performing in public with the orchestra of his father Zdenek Bartak Sr. who used to be a popular big band leader mainly in the fifties, sixties and seventies.
