Muhittin Şerif Targan (also known as Şerif Muhiddin Haydar or Fehametli Şerif Muhiddîn bin Ali Haydar) (1892-1967), was a Turkish classical musician and composer, playing ud and 'cello. Born in Istanbul, Turkey, to a wealthy family, Targan started learning the ud at six years old, going on to take private music lessons, and giving his first public perdormance when he was thirteen.
