Erwann Kermorvant was born in 1972, in Lorient, France. Being raised in a "musical" family, he studied the clarinet for ten years at the Ecole National de Musique et de Danse (ENMD) in his hometown. At the age of 18, he moved to Los Angeles to assist his first mentor, Ralph Grierson, a veteran Hollywood studio musician and composer.
