A native of Chalkida, Greece. Ioannis Kalantzis studied composition and computer music at the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique of Lyon with Philippe Manoury, Marco Stroppa and Dennis Lorrain. He has received distinctions and prizes in contests as CIMESP'97, Papayioannou '98, Pierre Schaeffer '99, and Grame/EOC 2002.
