moonkat were a lo-fi indie rock band from Oxford, UK. They were formed in 1998 by Emma Short (vocals, guitar), Cassie Davies (bass) and Ros Murray (vocals, guitar). The band went through numerous line-up changes with only Emma and Cassie being constant, but all their records were made following the addition of Phill Howarth (drums) and Richard Lanyon (guitar).
