The Farthest Edge was formed in the summer of 2011, by veteran musicians Rich Candelaria, Patrick Michaelis, and Matt Ryan. Candelaria (formerly of Grudge) was partnered in a recording studio where he met young Zack Goggins doing session work for a client. The duo got together in what is now the group's rehearsal space, and assembled the foundation of what became The Farthest Edge.
