The Hearers began as a side project in 1994 for main songwriters, Darren Welch & Marc Tweed. Stripped down, stark odes to familial decay, lost wallets and rotary dial telephones made up their first release, a 7 song self-titled cassette that also featured engineering and production work by David Moore, who soon after began playing with the band.
